The Man with the Most Michelin Stars in the World đ
Of course, itâs the legendary French chef JoĂ«l Robuchon, who earned 32 stars in his lifetime! My first experience with JR was in Shanghai, and it left me confused for years â why was this famous Michelin restaurant so⊠underwhelming? Those 3+ hours felt like a slog, and I avoided his restaurants for a long time after. But! Years later, in Las Vegas, I gave it another chance â and finally understood JRâs true caliber. No wonder the Shanghai location didnât survive the pandemic⊠đ Ambience Located next to the Baccarat Lounge in MGM Grand, the style is modern French. As Forbes Travel described: âFlowing crystal chandeliers and marble floors accent the artistic decor, dressed in purple with gilded touches.â Crystal paired with neatly arranged purple rose arrangements feels so contemporary yet timeless â elegant yet vibrant. Iâm obsessed! (Are those chandeliers and table pieces really from Baccarat? If anyone knows, tell me! đ) đ Service Top-notch, no doubt. It felt less like being served and more like being hosted by a warm, accomplished grandfather â mutual respect at its finest. This is what Michelin stars should mean. We were in a hurry and asked to finish in 2 hours, so they recommended the shorter menu but warmly invited us back for the full experience next time. I expected rushed service, but not at all. They kept their rhythm â cutting butter, selecting bread, presenting dishes, explaining, chatting, dessert selection, manager farewell, parting gifts⊠Somehow, we walked out exactly 1 minute under 2 hours. Incredible! đ Food From starters to desserts â everything was delicious. You could taste the character and maturity of each ingredient. The bread basket offered around 18 kinds of mini breads â donât miss the green basil roll (second row)! The olive oil was intensely fragrant â truly extra virgin đ. The Wagyu ribeye was tender and satisfying, though the uni-caviar pasta was too salty for my light palate. Desserts were great but still sweet for a Chinese tastebud â to be expected. đšâđł BTW, the current head chef is said to be Eleazar Villanueva. âŒïž Dress code: Business casual (my friend in full Chrome Hearts was initially turned away, but they kindly let us in with a gentle reminder â though Iâve heard others werenât so lucky. So maybe tone down the punk vibes a bit đ ). Finally â after all these reflections â JRI is now a restaurant Iâll revisit every time Iâm in Vegas. #LasVegas #Michelin #MichelinRestaurantReview #FrenchCuisine #JoelRobuchon #VegasEats
