The Modern - New Menu Disappointment π
πΊThe signature Three-Egg Dish is still delicious. π₯ πThe new dish, Chilled Tuna with cherry tomatoes, is very refreshing and tasty. π The King Salmon is still good, but it would be better if it were a bit more rare. Also, why is it topped with cilantro oil now? I don't recall that from before... π£ The lamb was last-minute swapped for Beef Tenderloin (Chef, did we run out of lamb?). The tenderness is still there, and it's tasty. ποΈ (But I still can't stop thinking about the lamb at Aquavit.) π πThe new desserts are not very good. There are too many elements and flavors on one plate, and they don't harmonize well. The pairing feels quite chaotic. Why does the mint ice cream taste bitter, and the chocolate ganache next to it is overly rich? I'm not quite sure what they're trying to express. π¨ ποΈ The front of the house was very slow today. Clearing plates and bringing the bill took a long time. πΊI understand that there weren't many covers at lunch, and it's Monday with Restaurant Week and a collaboration event, but this level of service feels a bit lacking. #NewYork ππ
