đź The Must-Try Amazing Mexican Restaurant You Canât Miss!
đ Name: Holbox đ Address: 3655 S Grand Ave I searched online and couldnât find a single article recommending Holboxâso let me, someone whoâs eaten here until I could barely walk, introduce it in detail! đ Thereâs a YouTube channel called BuzzfeedVideoâmany of you have probably seen their Worth It series. Each episode picks one type of food and tries it at three restaurants at different price points. After watching the Holbox episode, I was so tempted I went to check it out the same day! Holbox is tucked away in a Mexican food court near USC. The food court is on a somewhat remote street cornerâthe first time I went, I almost thought I was in the wrong place and nearly left! đ You order at the counter, and it was only when I got there that I realized Holbox is actually recommended by the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide! The seating is limitedâjust a counter with stoolsâbut you get to watch the chefs prepare the food right in front of you! đšđł Now, letâs talk about the delicious food! đ Aguachile This is the most popular appetizer! Lime, cucumber, cilantro, and green chili are blended into a sauce used to marinate Santa Barbara shrimp đ€. The fried shrimp heads are arranged around a bed of avocado and shrimp. The shrimp heads are edibleânot just for decoration! Theyâre super crispy, and when you bite into them, you get a burst of rich shrimp flavorâabsolutely delicious! The marinated shrimp are tangy and sweet, incredibly fresh and bouncyâhighly recommended! đ Uni-Scallop Ceviche Ceviche is a dish where raw fish or seafood is marinated in lime juice. This one features chopped scallops and tomatoes placed on top of sea urchin, with a dollop of avocado đ„ on the side. Be carefulâthere might be tiny fragments of sea urchin shell! đ Yellowtail Ceviche Yellowtail and tomatoes are finely chopped and served on a spicy sauce, with avocado puree on the side. Youâre supposed to break the crispy tostada and use it to scoop up the fishârefreshing with a nice kick! I loved it! đź Taco time! Tacos at Holbox are generally $5â8 eachânot too expensive, so you can try a few! đ Taco De Pulpo En Su Tinta Haha, I didnât understand the name at first and spent a while looking for it on the menu. Rewatching the video, I realized it means âOctopus in its own inkââhow interesting! This is a top recommendation among the tacosâa must-order! After the cold dishes, a warm octopus taco is just perfect! đ Wood Grilled Fish Taco Grilled with a sweet morita sauce and a pinch of salt, the fish is cooked over charcoal to medium-well. Itâs a huge piece of kampachiâvery generous portion! đ I really canât fit everything here! Such an amazing Mexican spotâyou definitely canât miss it! đ„ș #LosAngeles #LAFood #MexicanFood #Holbox #USCEats #MichelinBibGourmand #TacoLover #Ceviche #FoodieFind #HiddenGem #MustTry #FreshSeafood #AuthenticFlavors
