The National Archaeological Museum of Naples! 🏛️
Built in the late 18th century by Bourbon's Charles, the museum was initially designed to house the antiques left behind by his mother, Elizabeth Farnese. The scale of the Roman-era antiquities collected here is second to none in Europe, with a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and bronzes from the golden ages of Greece and Egypt, including treasures unearthed from the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as the Borgia collection from the Etruscan people and relics from Egypt. 🏺 🤩 Ground Floor: Mainly displays statues, sarcophagi, and more. 🤩 First Floor: In addition to displaying many frescoes by age, there are also precious glassware, jewelry, and more. 🤩 Second Floor: Most of the exhibits come from Pompeii City, including the famous description of the Macedonian Empire, the "Battle of Alexander." The exquisite mosaic "Alexander the Great's Battle with Persian Emperor Darius" is on display, a series of detailed portraits depicting animals, daily life, musicians, and even Plato and his students in dialogue. 🤩 Basement: The exhibition area for Egyptian art and crafts. 🤩 The Secret Room, which has been accessible only to important researchers for decades, has recently been opened to the public. The Secret Room displays a variety of erotic statues, one of which is a statue of the satyr with untoward intentions towards a nanny goat. 🔞 The ground floor is primarily sculptures, with perfect lighting and display. The third floor offers a view of the Pompeii frescoes. Additionally, there is a porcelain exhibition on the third floor, which costs 1.5 euros to enter, and it's filled with fine pieces. 💠 In the secret basement, you can see well-preserved mummies and dried corpses, many Egyptian steles with exquisite carvings that rival the Louvre's Egyptian collection. It's definitely worth a visit. 👀 Also, the Chapel of Saint Severinus in Naples is worth a visit. Unfortunately, not having bought tickets in advance was a regret of this trip. 🥲 #CulturalHeritage #BeautyOfCulturalRelics #CulturalRelics #Italy #Naples #NaplesQuintet #ArtManagement #MuseumsWorthVisiting #Archaeology #Museums #Porcelain #Exhibitions #Sculptures
