๐ The National Art Center, Tokyo (1)
The glass curtain wall of the museum undulates like waves, with an elegant and dynamic curve. ๐โจ ๐ The entrance is also quite unique, featuring irregular trapezoidal automatic doors that are not perpendicular to the ground. ๐ Thanks to the sense of transparency, the interior of the museum feels spacious and open. ๐ฟ The design of the museum embodies Kisho Kurokawa's consistent philosophy of conflict and symbiosisโ ๐ "An important aspect of symbiosis is the combination of local and global characteristics. ๐ I used wood, concrete, steel, and glass to create this building, but I preserved their natural states without altering their colors. ๐This is a very Japanese concept." ๐This national museum does not have a permanent collection; any outstanding works from around the world may become the subject of its special exhibitions. ๐ ๐In the lobby, there are two inverted conical spaces made of concrete: the smaller one is a cafรฉ, accessed from the second floor, and the larger one is a restaurant, accessed from the third floor. ๐ต #Tokyo ๐๐
