The Palace of Fontainebleau is as Beautiful as Its Name
The Palace of Fontainebleau is one of France’s largest royal residences. "Fontainebleau" evolved from "fontaine belle eau," which originally meant "beautiful spring." 📆 Tickets: Use a Museum Pass or book via the official website (Note: 163 email cannot receive verification codes—use Gmail or Hotmail instead). 🚇 Transportation Route From central Paris, go to Paris Gare de Lyon. Take the R line (direction: Montargis/Montereau) to Fontainebleau-Avon Station (the third stop). After exiting, take bus 3401 to Château Station. The R line runs above ground, not underground. Follow the pink signs the whole way, and check the display screens for platform information. ✔️ Navigo weekly pass is valid. 🏰 Attractions: 1️⃣ The first spot you’ll see after getting off the bus is the Jardin de Diane (Diana’s Garden, Queen’s Garden). In the center of the garden’s fountain stands a statue of the goddess Diana. 2️⃣ Cour d’Honneur (Honor Court): After passing security, you’ll see the square and horseshoe-shaped steps. This is where Napoleon bid farewell to his soldiers—an unmissable photo spot that’s incredibly photogenic 📸. 3️⃣ Napoleon I Museum: Displays collections and portraits from Napoleon’s era. 4️⃣ Galerie François I (Francis I Gallery): Adorned with exquisite Renaissance-style murals and marble-like statues. 5️⃣ Chinese Museum: Houses many Chinese cultural relics, but it wasn’t open when I visited—check the official website for opening times. 🌸 After visiting the castle, besides the Jardin de Diane, if you have time, explore the English Garden and Carp Pond. The sprawling woods even let you spot swans 🦢. 🥞 For lunch, we went to Luwei Brunch Café in the town. Both dishes we ordered were delicious, and the café’s atmosphere was lovely too. 🚌 Return Journey Take bus 3401 back to Fontainebleau-Avon Station. The stop marked on Google near the clothing store is incorrect: the stop across the road ahead is in the opposite direction. The actual stop is on the other side, around the corner and further in, named "Place de l'Étape." Get off at Quai 9, which is the R line station—platform 2 for central Paris. 📝 The Palace of Versailles and Fontainebleau each have their own charm. If time is limited, prioritize Versailles. Fontainebleau, however, is quiet with fewer crowds and beautiful scenery—the blue-and-white palace walls perfectly match its elegant name. #ParisTravel #ParisTrip #Paris #Fontainebleau #France #TravelInfluencerSupportProgram #TravelEditorial #IndepthTravelGuide #Castle
