The Progress of Civilization Requires Exchange and Co
⭐Before leaving Cancún, Mexico, we visited the Museo Maya de Cancún (address: Blvd. Kukulcán KM 16.5, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún). ⭐The climate here is quintessentially tropical rainforest. The ruins are hidden within the lush jungle, where occasional droplets from the leaves sprinkle down like a light drizzle. ⭕Among the scattered remnants of walls stands the Chaak Palace, a former sacrificial temple dating back to the 15th–16th centuries—by which time China was already in the Ming Dynasty. 🌴The artifacts displayed indoors are quite primitive: ⭕ rough pottery and stone tools, reflecting a pre-metal, slash-and-burn agricultural society. Most descriptions are in Spanish, requiring a translation app for understanding. 💙Why was Mayan civilization considered "backward"? 🌴In my opinion, it lacked exchange, competition, and collision, which greatly limited technological advancement. #Museum #Mexico #MayanCulture
