The steamed eel rice in New York izakaya šŸ® is so delicious!!

Finally got to try the super popular steamed eel rice! And I even stumbled upon a special menu item—Japanese braised beef tongue, which was incredibly delicious! 🤤 We visited this Japanese izakaya on a weekday night, and it was already packed! Definitely recommend making a reservation beforehandļ½ž 怐Food Recommendations怑 🌟 Steamed Eel Rice in Bamboo Steamer Their eel rice is so unique! The steamed rice has a lovely bamboo aroma, and each grain is perfectly separated—total catnip for rice lovers šŸ«¶šŸ» The eel is cut into strips, and there are no bones at all, so it’s super easy to eatļ½ž There’s also shredded egg and perilla leaves—the perilla’s distinct fragrance takes the eel rice to a whole new level! 🌟 Japanese Braised Beef Tongue This one’s from the special menu šŸ“ The slightly spicy miso broth, paired with beef tongue (with a bit of tendon), is amazing! The tongue is tender, and the tendon parts are pleasantly chewyļ½ž The ingredients—tofu, daikon, konjac, shiitake mushrooms—are all soaked in the flavorful broth, so tasty! 🌟 Yakitori (Grilled Chicken Skewers) We ordered chicken thigh, gizzard, liver, fried chicken skin, chicken meatballs, and tomato-bacon skewers. Except for the chicken skin, which was a bit burnt, they were all pretty good! I’d suggest trying the tare (sauced) ones—I went with salted, which might be why they were easier to overcook 🄲 The gizzard and liver were really standout, thoughļ½ž 🌟 We also got tamagoyaki (sweet egg roll) and sweet shrimp with scallop. The tamagoyaki was so soft it practically melted—delicious!
