These Small Towns Near Napa Have INCREDIBLE Food Too 😋

Last week, my boyfriend and I were invited to a wedding in Napa. As huge Snoopy fans, we decided to spend two days in Santa Rosa—the town where Charles Schulz, the creator of Snoopy, lived.❤️ We were totally blown away by the food scene here! It’s even more unique than what you’ll find in downtown Napa, and honestly, it could hold its own against big cities like New York. So many spots worth recommending!😁 🍴 Augie‘s Top recommendation goes to this classic French restaurant. They offer traditional dishes with rare ingredients and intricate techniques—things you rarely see even in most French places. The sweetbreads (veal thymus) were tender and not gamey at all, the rabbit roulade was flavorful, and they even have frog legs and snails in four different preparations! Their mussels were plump and delicious, and the beef bourguignon was made with beef cheek—so tender and rich. Even the complimentary baguette was so good we asked for refills! And though we were stuffed, we ended with an orange crêpe—boozy, aromatic, and paired with high-quality vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend! Reminds me of NYC’s Le Coucou but much more approachable.🎶 🍴 Bird & Bottle One of the few New American spots I genuinely enjoy. They blend Asian influences cleverly—think guacamole with miso, or grilled steak with gochujang. My favorite dish was actually the spinach salad: marinated mushrooms, maple-glazed bacon—every bite was a delight!💕 🍴 Goguette A bakery run by a registered dietitian, specializing in French bread made with sourdough and slow fermentation. Open only for a few hours in the afternoon, and always with an early line of locals. I pre-ordered the jalapeño cheddar loaf online—amazing texture and aroma. My boyfriend couldn’t resist and got a chocolate brioche—equally impressive. The owner loves chatting in French (if you’re up for it!), and the samples are generous!🤣 🍴 Warike A Peruvian restaurant. Maybe not as standout as the others, but still very solid. Must-try: their grilled octopus—tender, smoky, and full of flavor.😍 🍴 J‘s Winery We also drove 10 minutes to J’s Winery. We tried their sparkling wine and a classic flight with cheese pairing. Their signature sparkling was lovely, and I personally loved their Chardonnay. The sommelier was super friendly—he ended up giving us six extra pours 😂 The town itself is full of vibe-y cafés and vintage shops. If you don’t feel like driving, there are walkable wine bars everywhere—not to mention Snoopy sculptures around every corner! Whether you’re into wine, food, or Snoopy, Santa Rosa will make your dreams come true~👍 #LifeInNorthAmerica #CaliforniaTravel #Napa #Snoopy
