This mountain road in South Africa is breathtakingly beautiful!
In South Africa, I took the photo of a lifetime. The real-life view is incredibly stunning—way more impressive than any photo could capture! 👮 Aside from occasional concerns about safety, this land is truly worth exploring thoroughly. 🌊 If you want to see the sea, Cape Town is a must. ⛰️ But if you’re looking to unwind, find healing, and get close to nature, I highly recommend a trip to the Drakensberg Mountains. The landscapes here are uniquely spectacular; most hotels are nestled in the scenery—open your window and you’re greeted by mountains, step outside and you can hike, horseback ride, play golf, or climb. Every way of experiencing it offers a different kind of natural tranquility, perfect for healing. 🏨 Several established hotels are fully booked in both peak and off-peak seasons, so it’s best to book in advance. In South Africa, choosing a hotel in the price range of R1500–R5000 (approximately RMB 600–2000) usually won’t disappoint—you might even be pleasantly surprised. I’m not used to the local mountain cuisine. Some accommodations have kitchens where you can cook, so you can bring ingredients to make your own meals. I always bring instant noodles with me when I travel—they’re a must! 🏠 Recommended hotels: aha ALPINE Health Resort Drakensberg Sun Champagne Castle Hotel Little Switzerland 🛣️ Route: Durban → Drakensberg → Golden Highland Gate → Clarens → Johannesburg 🍂 The landscapes along the way are rich and unique. On the drive back to Johannesburg from the Drakensberg, we passed through the town of Clarens—clean, quiet, and filled with autumn colors. It instantly slows you down. It also seemed safe, perfect for stopping to pause and zone out. We even passed cars that had driven all the way from Europe, parked at a campsite. ⛺️ Next time, I definitely want to try camping—watch the sunrise and sunset, climb mountains, and sleep under the stars. The campsites here are clean and comfortable, well worth experiencing. #SouthAfrica #LifeAbroad #Durban #Johannesburg #Travel #RoadTripViews #SelfDrive #BeautifulScenery #RoundTheWorldTravel #MountainClimbing #HikingTheWorld
