This NYC Half Marathon Swaps Water Stations For Pastries From The City’s Top Bakeries

If the personal achievement and cheering crowds won’t motivate you to do a half marathon, maybe some freshly baked flaky pastries will do the trick? TIPSTER is putting on the cities first-ever NYC Bakery Run on Sunday, September 21st, 2025. The social half marathon will take runners 13.1 miles to Brooklyn and Manhattan’s most mouthwatering bakeries , with a free signature pastry at each checkpoint. Because when you’re racing through the city, cramping and in need of some nourishment, why not fix it with cardamom buns, fruit-filled danishes and more. Otherwise, you can think of it like your college days, rewarding yourself with a sweet treat after each hour spent studying—but this time it’s with running! Plus, you’ll be skipping the lines at all of NYC’s best bakeries. Similar to other NYC races, runners will be selected through a lottery process. There are 100 spots total and chosen runners will be raffled off in pairs so be sure to either grab an ambitious partner—or at least a very hungry one. The race will commence at 9am from La Cabra in Bushwick . Runners will begin in three waves of advanced, intermediate and beginner, and all levels are welcome.
