First, let’s talk about the disappointments (based on personal experience… not representative of everyone’s taste)! Lobster Crepe at Sunrise Cafe 🥞🦞 This was the first spot I picked when I got to Bar Harbor, and it’s right by the waterfront. It’s a tiny little breakfast café… My partner and I each got one (I thought, how expensive can a crepe be, anyway?). When the bill came to 66🔪, I was stunned. The crepe looked decent, but the price was shocking. I even doubted if they put a whole lobster in it. Taste-wise, it just tasted like “the ocean” – basically the same as boiling a lobster at home, rolling it in a crepe with some mayo. But hey, when you’re here, you gotta try it… I guess I don’t regret it? 😅 Geddy‘s 🍕❌ This place was packed – you have to make a reservation for a table, otherwise you’re stuck waiting for a bar seat. I’d seen people rave about their lobster pizza, but look at the photo (if you can) – it didn’t even look as appealing or tasty as a regular cheese pizza! There was definitely no whole lobster in it, that’s for sure. I got mine to go: the front desk took my name, but the pizza sat there for nearly half an hour before I went up to ask for it. I was sitting right nearby, totally in her line of sight the whole time. That service was terrible. Price? 48🔪 plus tax. I was so frustrated – what were all those reviewers thinking? Major letdown. ☹️ Blaze 🍗🍟 I went here for dinner – no wait, which was why I chose it (it’s one of the few places open late). Everyone was raving about their charcoal-grilled lobster, but I refused to fall for the lobster trap again – another 60🔪? No way. So I just ordered whatever sounded okay: the wood grill mojo chicken (34🔪 for three tiny slices of meat, with some broccoli florets and a few finger potatoes underneath). It was so mediocre… and had a weird wine aftertaste. I also got the clam chowder – the wind was howling that day, so I just wanted something hot. It tasted normal, nothing special. Then there were the duck fat fries – I asked the server what made them different, and he said they’re fried in duck fat for a richer flavor. Spoiler: they tasted exactly like regular fries. Judge for yourselves… The total was 65🔪 before tip (the “cheapest” meal because there was no lobster, haha). Most of the diners here were Chinese, and almost everyone had that charcoal-grilled lobster. #AcadiaFoodGuide #AcadiaNationalPark #BarHarborEats #MaineLobster #PortlandMaineFood #BostonAreaFun #AcadiaRecommendations #AcadiaNationalParkGuide #BarHarbor
