This Place Is Perfect for Vacation
Picking up from my last post—about two hours north of Charleston lies the coastal getaway Myrtle Beach. Preferring quieter beaches, we chose Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes up north. The beach was gorgeous, with soft sand that felt amazing underfoot. My favorite spot was the huge pool downstairs—floating there all day felt like paradise, though the sun was pretty intense ☀️. We drove to Broadway at the Beach and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk—I initially thought they were the same place 😅. Broadway at the Beach is a vibrant commercial complex centered around a lake, surrounded by shops and entertainment. It’s a fun area to explore, with attractions like the aquarium and the upside-down house. We also caught a cool ’80s-themed live performance outside The Hangout—a nostalgic music mashup! While strolling, we tried an ice cream sandwich that was surprisingly delicious 🍦😋. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, on the other hand, is a classic oceanfront promenade—busy, lively, and filled with energy (and occasional police sirens 🚨). The highlight here is the SkyWheel, offering stunning panoramic views of the coastline 🎡✨. As a foodie, I have to recommend two brunch spots near our hotel: 🍳 Blueberry – Delicious and cozy 🥑 Drift – Another tasty favorite If you’re craving Chinese flavors, there are two solid options nearby: 🥟 Dumpling & Seafood Restaurant – Authentic and satisfying 🍲 Nine Spices Hotpot & BBQ – All-you-can-eat hot pot and BBQ #US #Florida #Jacksonville #Orlando #Charleston
