This Sushi Spot in San Jose Is So Good!! Let’s Go with Friends! 🍣

Craving sushi again! This time I went back to Kakuna — but tried their San Jose location. Friends said it’s more spacious and has great drinks, so I grabbed two buddies and headed over for the weekend! Their sushi is American-style but honestly has the most generous portions I’ve seen in the Bay Area — rolls packed with sashimi inside, more on top, and just a thin layer of rice. And the average price is around $15… I always wanna ask the owner, “Aren’t you losing money?!” 😂 ✨ Must-orders: Omakase Box — An absolute must! A nine-compartment sashimi box, and the fish selection seems to change each time. This round I even got fresh oysters! A squeeze of lemon, one slurp — so fresh and divine 🦪🍋. My friends couldn’t believe how thick the slices were — one piece is practically a meal! Zero misses. I even made a mini donburi with the roe — add a little soy sauce, perfection 😋. Boujee Roll — The priciest roll at $19.99, but for good reason: lobster inside, topped with seared salmon 🍣, and crispy fried lobster bits on the outside. Seriously mind-blowing and super filling 🦞✨. 49ers Roll — Our server said this was his favorite. It’s a tempura shrimp roll topped with sashimi — the combo of textures is unbeatable 🍤💥. Gaijin Roll — Not sure why a roll with fish inside and out is called “Foreigner” 😂 but who cares — it’s delicious! Salmon on top, tuna inside… why choose when you can have both? 😉 Black Mamba Roll — Creative name for an eel roll. The eel is tender and tasty, and the inside has a nice crispy crunch — unique and satisfying 🖤. My vegetarian friend ordered the Zesty and Herbivore rolls — same fillings (avocado + cucumber) but different sauces (spicy vs. soy). Fresh and great for balancing richer rolls — just pick one! We also got veggie tempura — freshly fried and super tasty 🥦. Drinks are on the sweeter side — we tried the Mango Passionfruit and Taro Milk Tea. Definitely ask for less sugar!! The servers are all young, polite, and attentive — great vibe! Plenty of parking out front 🚗. Go with a group so you can try more rolls — and don’t hold back! Prices are a breath of fresh air in the Bay Area… no wonder they’re killing it 💸❤️. 📍 Address: 4632 Meridian Ave, San Jose, CA 95124 #BayAreaLife #BayAreaFoodie #BayAreaFoodDiscovery #BayAreaEats #SushiLovers #MustTry #SanJoseEats 🍱🎉
