This Week Is Your Last Chance To Attend San Francisco’s Free Western-Themed Block Party

Over the past year, Downtown San Francisco has come alive with regular block parties , starting with Downtown First Thursdays on 2nd Street. The free events regularly draw thousands, causing the program to expand into a western-themed party on Front Street every first Thursday. This October’s event is the Grand Finale Hoedown on Front Street for 2025 . Front Street will host the lively free party this Thursday, October 2nd, from 4 to 9 pm . The party includes fantastic live bluegrass and country music, line dancing lessons, a mechanical bull, and rodeo-themed games. Participating bars like Harrington’s Bar and Grill, Schroeder’s, and Royal Exchange serve drinks you can take to the block party. For the final event of the year, organizers are bringing even more activities, including an arts and crafts station, community mural, and Hot Wheels Boogie Racers. Finally, make sure you catch the dogs in adorable western outfits for the doggy costume contest at 6:45 pm. The block party is part of ongoing efforts to revitalize San Francisco’s downtown, which include free block parties, concerts, and adding entertainment zones.
