🌳 Thomson Nature Park: A Hidden Gem with Stunning Scenery and Wildli

Last weekend, I visited Thomson Nature Park in Thomson, a treasure trove of nature with monkeys, pangolins, and sambar deer. Here's what you can expect: 🌳 5 Main Trails in the Park: 🌈 No.1 Ruins and Figs Trail (Red Markers) This park was once a settlement for Hainanese immigrants in the 1930s. Follow this trail to see the remnants of houses and other structures. 🌈 No.2 Streams & Ferns Trail (Yellow Markers) This trail passes through the park's freshwater habitats, where you might spot the endangered Spotted Tree Frog and Malayan Box Turtle. 🌈 No.3 Rambutan Trail (Orange Markers) Surrounding the site of a rambutan plantation from the 1930s, with informative signs detailing the area's history. 🌈 No.4 Macaque Trail Named after the Long-tailed Macaque, this trail is home to these monkeys. 🌈 No.5 Langur Trail A shorter trail named after the Indonesian Langur, and Thomson Park is a conservation area for this rare species of monkey. ⭕ Rare Animals The park is teeming with birds, including the critically endangered Straw-headed Bulbul. Additionally, two other endangered species are the Sunda Pangolin and the Sambar Deer. 🌟 Exploring Nearby Parks If you want to visit other parks nearby, you can also go to Lower Peirce Reservoir, which is just 750m away from the entrance of the Macaque Trail in Thomson Nature Park. 🥣 Dining Options For food, there's a row of restaurants on Casuarina Road, about 550m from the Macaque Trail entrance. Another nearby hawker center is Sembawang Hills Food Centre, 1.2km from the Macaque Trail entrance and 2km from the park's main entrance. 🚗 Address: Upper Thomson Road 🚌 Bus Stops: Take bus numbers 138, 167, 169, 860, or 980 and get off at Aft Tagore Dr or Bef Tagore Dr. 🚇 MRT Station: Lentor (2.3km walk) #SingaporeTravel #SingaporeWithKids #Hiking #MyHikingDiary #MountainHiking #WhereToGoInSingaporeOnWeekends #SingaporeLife #WhatToEatInSingapore #WhatToDoInSingapore
