TIL I Was the Last to Know About This Hidden Japanese Gem in Arcadia!
As someone who eats Japanese food four times a week, I’ve always had this “stereotype”: if a Japanese restaurant isn’t run by Japanese people, it can’t be authentic… Welllll — until my friend dragged me to KIYO Japanese Cuisine in Arcadia. Turns out, I was just being narrow-minded! I almost missed this treasure 💔 🦪 Kumamoto Oysters + Uni + Salmon Platter So fresh, it’s like they were just pulled from the ocean 🌊 The uni was sweet and creamy, the oysters plump and refreshing with a splash of citrus vinegar. When the ingredients are this good, you don’t need heavy seasoning. 🐟 Seasonal Live Lobster Sashimi We got lucky — it’s lobster season! The meat was crystal clear, bouncy, and naturally sweet. 🍣 Sushi & Sashimi Platter Under $35 per person — the value is unreal! Salmon belly, tuna… every slice was thick-cut ✨ 🍲 Winter Special: Miyazaki Wagyu Shabu-Shabu We ordered it since we had a big group — and it was incredible! Perfect with veggies, so you’re not just eating cold dishes in winter. This was also the first time my Instagram story blew up with comments like: “I love this place too!” “You finally went!” “My go-to spot!” …Turns out I was the only one who didn’t know how popular it is 🤦♀️ Their ingredients arrive fresh daily. Prices are reasonable, quality is top-tier, and they even have lunch specials for just over $20! Lesson learned: never judge a Japanese restaurant by “who runs it” — deliciousness is what truly matters!! 📍 KIYO Japanese Cuisine 815 W Naomi Ave #A, Arcadia, CA 91007 💸 Around $30–50 per person for a seriously satisfying meal #LAJapaneseFood #KIYO #LAEats #LosAngeles #ArcadiaFood #ArcadiaJapanese #LASashimi
