Tokugawa Ieyasu's Castle ๐ฐ
In the park of Hamamatsu Castle, there is a castle where Tokugawa Ieyasu lived for 17 years. ๐ข๐ It sits on the highest ground nearby, overlooking the entire city. ๐ After breakfast, we went for a walk, following the tree-lined path up the small stone hill. ๐ณ ๐๐บ On both sides of the road were ancient trees, thick enough to require two hands to encircle them, but not very tall, with gnarled branches. Japanese trees are really like Japanese peopleโmostly small in stature. ๐ข๐ The slightly larger trees had tiny tags, about the size of a pinky finger, with a number on them. It seems these old trees are all cultural relics, managed and protected. ๐ฟ ๐๐บ Every day, a different person from our partner company came to pick us up and drop us off. Each one mentioned this samurai castle with over 400 years of history, and they all recommended that we take a walk in the forest. ๐ฒ #Osaka ๐
