Tokyo’s Hidden Gem Near Tsukiji(2)
👉🏻 A Unique Architectural Gem: Tsukiji Honganji 🏯 🌊Completely different from the traditional wooden structures of Japanese Buddhist temples, the main building of Honganji uses a lot of stone. It features Greek - style arches and colonnades, Indian - inspired domes, and Chinese and Japanese reliefs—all blending together in a fascinating mix of exotic styles. It’s definitely worth a close look. 🌟 🌊While everyone else was enjoying seafood at Tsukiji Market, I took a leisurely stroll around Honganji, savoring the tranquility. A few interesting stone carvings caught my eye—they’re one of the temple’s classics. Since there was an event happening downstairs and I couldn’t go in, I missed out on seeing an elephant sculpture 🌊 I’ll have to come back next time to fully explore the architecture and fill in the gaps. 🐘 #ClassicalArchitecture #HistoricBuildingConservation 🌊
