Tokyo's Akihabara: A One-Day Tour for Anime and Manga Fans - Part 1

Tokyo's Akihabara is truly a pilgrimage site for anime and manga fans! On the eighth day of my trip to Japan, I headed to Tokyo and spent an afternoon exploring Akihabara, and I can already tell I'll be back for more. Overall, there were so many surprises, but the good deals were limited. 📍 gigo Building 2 The first stop after crossing the street. I spent 2000 yen trying to grab a chikawa charm and failed, which made me feel so heartbroken every time I saw gigo afterwards. 📍 kbooks I wanted to recreate a scene from Steins;Gate with a photo of Kurisu, but there were too many people, so I settled for a selfie. The store had plenty of goods, but it was nearly impossible to find any good deals, though the cold snacks were decent. 📍 Surugaya There are several Surugaya stores on Akihabara street, and each floor has a different selection, quite a difference. I visited three but didn't find the bargain I was looking for. 📍 Animate I almost broke my legs climbing the stairs! The elevator was hard to wait for. There were so many IPs and a lot of Bungo Stray Dogs goods, but not many pretty charms. I picked up some Nakayama goods. The third floor had a gashapon machine with charms, and I got a Nakayama in two tries, which was pretty good. 📍 Akihabara Gachapon Hall A gachapon store well worth exploring! The display cases had several super cute chikawa! I even found a Witch's Journey for 1100 yen, which was a great deal. I couldn't reach the third floor of their gachapon machines, so I tried two Fate ones. 📍 Akiba System Idle Shop I tried my luck with a Chainsaw Man gachapon machine at the entrance, and the quality of the gachapon at the door looked good. 📍 Bookoff They had a complete collection of books, but I was a bit disappointed not to find any cassettes I liked. 📍 Akihabara X I found the new version of Holo's Q-figure and folder that Qing Ge likes, which was quite rare after visiting so many stores. 📍 Ichiban Kuji Ichiban Kuji is half the price compared to domestic ones! I tried four times for the Riko莉可莉丝 prize but didn't get the figure. Then, within three minutes, I saw someone else get two figures in six tries, which was heartbreaking. #JapanTravel #TokyoTravel #AnimeMangaTravel #Akihabara
