Tokyo's Hidden Cultural Itinerary, No Reservation Required! (1)π
This trip to Tokyo, the highlight was visiting the House of Councillors and the Imperial Palace without any prior reservation. ππΈ I also wanted to visit the Akasaka Palace, but unfortunately, it's closed for maintenance until April 2nd. πSo, if you plan to go, make sure it's not during the closure period. ππ» House of Councillors Take the subway to National Diet Building. Exit the station and head towards the National Diet Library. π First, you'll see the House of Representatives, but it only offers a 3 PM English tour. ππΈNon-Japanese speaking visitors can't join the Japanese tour (the security staff said it's for safety reasons in case of an emergency). Since we were in a hurry, we skipped it. π Moving forward, the House of Councillors doesn't have this restriction. You can directly choose to visit at the top of the hour. If you speak Japanese, you can listen to the guided tour. But even if you don't, there are Chinese brochures available for self-guided learning. ππΈ The House of Councillors is solemn and magnificent, definitely worth a visit! #Tokyo ππΏ
