Tokyo Exhibition | A Building That Opens Only 3 Months a Year šļø
During lunch break, I spontaneously decided to visit Kioi Seido near my office since itās been closed for over half a year. This time, itās open to showcase the works of architect Hiroshi Naito over the past 40 years. Both the exhibition and the building itself are absolutely worth seeingāhighly recommended! ⨠⢠My first encounter with Hiroshi Naito was his design for the Ginza Line Shibuya Stationās new platform. The massive white M-shaped frame paired with the Ginza Lineās yellow trains feels incredibly futuristic. šš ⢠This exhibition not only displays his architectural blueprints but also lets you freely flip through his sketches to peek into his creative processāsimilar to last yearās Margiela exhibition at their Ebisu office. āļøš ⢠Kioi Seido itself is a massive 15m cube supported by just four pillars. The ground floor adopts Le Corbusierās "pilotis" (elevated columns), so you can actually see these pillars. Overall, itās like a glass-clad, square version of UnitĆ© d'Habitation. š¢š ā¢ A classic Tokyo example of "Weāre not sure what this buildingās purpose is yet, but we have a cool design, so letās build it first." š š Address: Kioi Seido (3-1 Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) š Dates: July 1 (Tue) ā Sept 30 (Tue), 2025 ā° Hours: 10:00ā16:00 (Open only on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays) š« Admission: FREE! #TokyoEvents #ExhibitionAlert #FreeExhibition #ArtExhibition #LifeInTokyo #Hanzomon
