Tokyo Free Trip (1)π
In the morning, I first headed to St. Mary's Cathedral to see the avant-garde architectural work of Kenzo Tange. ππΈ Then I went to the Akasaka Palace, the State Guest House in Tokyo. πΏπ Unlike the purely Japanese-style guest houses I've seen in Kyoto, this one is a Western-style palace in the Neo-Baroque style. The interior is resplendent with gold and splendor, featuring expensive marble columns, gorgeous chandeliers, grand murals, and exquisite carvings that together create an elegant and solemn atmosphere. πΏπ The rooms are also filled with many photos displaying scenes of hosting foreign dignitaries, international conferences, and state banquets. ππΈYou can even see photos of many former Chinese leaders. The admission fee is 1,500 yen, and the Chinese audio guide costs 200 yen. πΏπ Unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside, so I could only stand in each hall, look up in admiration, and listen to the audio guide repeatedly, trying to commit every detail to memory with my eyes. #Tokyo πΏπ
