Tokyo Tomioka Hachiman Shrine Antique Flea Market π
The Tomioka Hachiman Shrine Antique Flea Market is held on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of every month. I was lucky that my travel schedule matched up this time, so I decided to check it out. ππΈ Most of the vendors are elderly gentlemen and ladies. The items for sale lean towards Japanese or Chinese - style antiques and decorative pieces. You can see signs of care and use on them. Some are souvenirs brought back from travels, while others are collections from when their grandchildren were young. Here, these items can find new owners who will cherish them just as much. ππΈ One stall was selling a lot of Meiji - era - themed figurines and charms. An old lady, without a second thought, picked up one of them - the cutest one in the lot The mother who arrived a step too late could only watch as her desired Meiji figurine was taken away. π€£ But later, she found a skiing - themed version and was just as delighted. This flea market is a place where you can meet like - minded people and discover hidden treasures. However, this particular flea market isn't quite my style. Next time, I'd like to visit the Daikanyama Flea Market, which is held twice a year, to see what treasures I can find there. ππΈ Tokyo has a different market every weekend. If you want to get to know Tokyo in a different way, these markets are worth a visit. By the way, the divine palanquin of Tomioka Hachiman Shrine is incredibly magnificent. It's located on the left side of the main approach. ππΈ While you're visiting the market, don't forget to take a look at it. #AntiqueMarket #TokyoInDepth #Tokyo #ShrineMarket π
