Tokyo Travel Must-Visit: The Gajoen ⛩🏯

🇯🇵 Tokyo Travel Must-Visit: The Gajoen ⛩🏯 The Gajoen in Tokyo is truly a must-visit destination for its stunning beauty, perfect for donning a kimono and capturing photos! It's said to be the inspiration behind the "Yuyuan" from Hayao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away," as well as for films like "The Grudge" and "Memoirs of a Geisha." It's undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Japanese-style architectures in Tokyo in my opinion. - The Gajoen is not only a museum but also a hotel. Even if you're not staying there, you can buy a ticket to explore inside. The museum features the famous Hyakudan Staircase, and after climbing the stairs, you can enjoy 7 rooms decorated in various styles. The ceilings and walls of these rooms are adorned with Japanese paintings. There are regularly changing exhibitions and some installation art as well。 - After visiting the museum, walk forward and you'll find two small outdoor courtyards. I recommend the one with the waterfall (go a bit further in)—it's absolutely stunning. Filled with maple trees and koi fish in the pond, you can walk up and around behind the waterfall, and it's not crowded either。 - The lobby houses many restaurants, most of which are open to the public. If you're tired from sightseeing, you can sit down for an afternoon tea with views like in photos 2-4. But remember to make a reservation in advance; we didn't have a spot when we went。 🎫 Admission: 1600 yen (you can buy it on-site if there aren't many people) 📍 Address: The Gajoen, 1Chome-8-1 Shimomeguro, Meguro City, Tokyo 153-0064 🚉 Transportation: A 10-minute walk from Meguro Station #Japan #WeekendGetaways #Tokyo #BestSpotsInTokyo #TravelGuide
