Too Hot | Boston's First Chinese Omakase 🍽️✨
A new Chinese restaurant recently opened in Harvard Square, Cambridge, and it's breaking ground by launching Boston's first Chinese Omakase 🎉. With Michelin coming to Boston and Philadelphia this fall, many fine dining spots have been opening branches in Boston lately (all coming to compete for stars 🌟 haha, just my personal fantasy 🤣). $99 for 12 courses – at that price, what more could you ask for? 🚲💰 The Omakase dishes aren't on the regular à la carte menu. The owner said they're still in soft opening and plan to offer Omakase only on Thursdays starting this week 📅. In addition to the set menu, they served their signature "Chicken Tofu Flower" – and it lived up to the hype, so delicious! 😋 The Kung Pao Shrimp Balls were super tender, the shrimp plump and even had shrimp roe 👍🦐. Another dish, Drunken Shrimp, was also very authentic! 🍶 The Lamb was roasted until very tender, with a perfect fat-to-lean ratio, and generous in portion! The tossed peanuts and chili were incredibly fragrant 🔥🥜. The Steamed Fish was very tender and fresh, simply served with a dipping sauce 💯🐟. The Stir-Fried Mushrooms were wonderfully aromatic 🍄✨. Service was good too, though the pacing was a bit fast – they said they serve dishes right after cooking to keep them from getting cold haha 🤣⏳. But for this price and quality, faster service is really just me nitpicking. When leaving, I told the owner everything was very tasty and suggested they could reduce the portions of the lamb and shrimp, then add another dish (like lobster, eel, or other specialty items) 🦞🐍. The table next to us also said they couldn't finish everything haha 🤣🍽️. I'll go ahead and predict: while this place might not earn a Michelin star 🌟, it could definitely land a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation 🏆. Looks like Boston's fine dining scene is about to blossom again – having Michelin in the city really is a good thing, hahaha 😂🌆. #BostonFood #BostonFoodExploration #BostonMichelin #Omakase #ChineseOmakase
