Too Hot 🌶️🔥 📍16-18 Eliot St LG1, Cambridge, MA 02138 🕐 Hours: Closed Monday Tue–Thu: 12–3pm, 5–9pm Fri–Sun: 12–3pm, 5–9:30pm A newly opened Yunnan-Guizhou-Sichuan restaurant in Cambridge — currently in soft opening! I’ve already been twice this week and tried 11 dishes 😋. 👍 Highly recommended meat dishes: Goose Intestine - So crispy and delicious! Mao Xue Wang - Fresh and silky duck blood, with bean sprouts and potatoes that soak up the spicy broth perfectly. I could eat a whole extra bowl of just that! Would love a “all-in version” with extra spice and ingredients 🌶️🍚. Yunnan Ham with Wild Mushrooms - Voted the best dish at the table! How can you go wrong with ham and mushrooms? 😍 (Though recently the ham seemed cut smaller and the dish was a bit watery 😢. Hopefully they stabilize the recipe soon!) 👍 Xifeng Chili Chicken Recommended by a friend from Guizhou! Unlike the usual fried version, this one is tender with a strong ginger flavor — super rice-friendly! 🍗🧡 👍 Vegetarian pick: Spicy Cold Tofu - Chewy, full of bean aroma, zero beany taste, and perfectly spicy. A great appetizer! Roasted Chili Eggplant 🍆 I expected the Guizhou-style version with century egg, chili, and tomato, fire-grilled and mixed in a bowl. This was still tasty though! Steamed Whole Fish with Dual Peppers 🐟 The fish was fresh, tender, and barely any bones. A bit pricey at $45 though. Guizhou Sour Soup with Beef 🍲 The broth was tangy and appetizing! Would be better if the beef was sliced thinner for more flavor. When will I get to try an authentic Kaili sour soup hotpot? 😭 Tibetan Style Iron Pot Beef (with Bread) 🫓 Tasted like regular stir-fried beef with bread — not particularly Tibetan. Heavenly Black Three Chop ❌ We all agreed this was the least authentic dish. Who puts peas in Hei San Duo?! 😫 Apparently both the Hong San Duo and Yacai Hei San Duo here have peas… heartbroken 💔. ——————————————————————————— They also offer a Chinese Omakase (priced at $99 per person — not cheap, so I’m waiting to see reviews first!). Went on a Sunday — packed! People were already waiting when we left. Weekdays are quieter, but service can be slow. Overall, the place is still adjusting. Maybe wait a bit till things stabilize~ Feel free to share your favorite dishes below! (P.S. Parking in Cambridge is a NIGHTMARE!!! 😱 I had to circle three times before finding a spot.) 🏷️ #TooHotCambridge #ChineseFood #SichuanCuisine #BostonEats #FoodReview #SpicyLovers
