Toronto | A Hidden Gem Restaurant · Every Dish is Stunning
Finding a great restaurant always makes me so happy, and this one is definitely going on my secret list: 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓃𝓉𝑒𝒸𝓁𝑒𝓇. This place has quite a history, with over ten years in business despite various name changes and renovations. It’s probably well-known by many! 🪽 Rainbow Trout: The rainbow trout and roe melt in your mouth. The fish is perfectly cooked, with a texture between raw and done. The cucumber-based sauce with pickled cucumbers is tangy and refreshing, and the crispy fish skin adds a delightful crunch without overpowering the flavors. 🪽 Scallop Crudo: Freshly sliced scallops from Newfoundland, served with a slightly acidic sauce and a touch of chili pepper. The balance of tart and spicy enhances the natural sweetness of the scallops, making this dish both delicious and flavorful. 🪽 Pâté en Croûte: A classic French dish that we hadn’t tried before but was highly recommended by the server. The pork terrine and foie gras are wrapped in a flaky crust, with pistachios inside. Although the cranberry flavor was subtle, the dish was quite aromatic and tasty. 🪽 Seared Cabbage & Mussels: Mussels paired with roasted cabbage and small bits of bone marrow, enhanced with cheese and chili powder. This unique combination provides a slight kick of heat and smoky flavor, making it both fresh and creamy. A new and exciting pairing! 🪽 Braised Short Rib Bourguignon: Red wine-braised beef with roasted mushrooms. The beef was incredibly tender and delicious, possibly the best braised beef I’ve had in Toronto. The marbled meat and slightly sweet red wine sauce were perfectly matched, and the flavorful onions on the side were a great addition! 🪽 Roasted Mushrooms - Sides: The mushrooms were perfectly roasted with truffle sauce underneath and a sprinkle of what seemed like mustard seeds on top. The crunchy texture and rich layers of flavor made it a great pairing with the beef. Another dish that’s hard to stop eating! Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and impressive. The prices are very reasonable—around $70 per person for two—and we left feeling fully satisfied. We’ll definitely be coming back! #TorontoEats #TorontoDining #FoodieLife #FoodieFinds #DateNight #TorontoLiving #HiddenGems #AtmosphericRestaurants ### Name: Chantecler Address: 798 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6G 1L9 Type: Restaurant ###
