Toronto|A Top-100 Restaurant That Deserves a Perfect Score
Lately, I’ve been all about that refined dining experience 👐🏻. This time, I visited 20 Victoria, a restaurant that made it onto Canada’s Top 100 list. I saw one of my favorite bloggers rate this place a 10/10, so I knew I had to try it! The ambiance is great, and the menu changes daily based on available ingredients. 🩶 STARTER: The first dish was a delightful amuse-bouche – cucumber with salmon and a little fried treat. 🩶 KANPACHI & APRICOT: This was my first time tasting pickled apricots in a dish – such a creative combo! The sweet and tangy apricot paired with amberjack sashimi was so refreshing. 🩶 SCALLOP & CUCUMBER: Scallops served with pickled scallions and Japanese cucumbers on a bed of veggies – light, tangy, and absolutely delicious. The seared scallops were perfectly golden, fragrant, and tender. 🩶 ZUCCHINI, ZUCCHINI, ZUCCHINI: I was instantly charmed by this adorable dish name! Three different zucchini preparations – the blossom stuffed with diced zucchini, some crispy fried bits, and everything paired with a caramelized sauce that was rich but not overwhelming. 🩶 BRIOCHE: Brioche served with butter – slightly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. So tasty! 🩶 RADISH & YOGURT: A salad featuring various types of radishes atop a yogurt base, accompanied by pickled onions and a tangy vinaigrette. The overall flavor was quite sour. 🩶 CHICKEN & OYSTER: The roasted chicken was tender with crispy skin, featuring both breast and thigh meat. The sauce, made with an oyster base, had a creamy yet slightly tangy flavor, enhanced by some seeds on top. The accompanying baby carrots were sweet and delicious. 🩶 PECORINO STAGIONATO & CURRANTS: Cheese paired with crackers, cranberries, and sweetflower. The cheese was rich and paired with the berries, the mix of creamy and tart flavors was intense. A bit heavy if you eat too much. 🩶 DESSERT: RHUBARB & ALMOND and STRAWBERRY & FETA: The berry and cheese dessert was definitely the better of the two. The almond tart was decent; the crust was fragrant, but the filling was too sweet. Overall, the desserts weren’t particularly impressive. I went on the weekend and opted for the 7-course dinner, which was $175 per person + tax (tip included). They also offer à la carte options, but only at the bar. The service and food were excellent – a great spot for a date! #TorontoFoodie #TorontoEats #FoodieAdventures #FoodReview #DateNight #HiddenGems #CozyRestaurant ### Restaurant Name: Restaurant 20 Victoria Address: 20 Victoria St, Toronto Type: Restaurant ###
