Toronto|🆕 Adorable New Spot with a Cute Name 🫧🐠
“Do you know why the ocean is blue?” “Because there are fish in the sea, and they blow bubbles—blue 🫧 blue 🫧~” Alright, that’s a cheesy joke my boyfriend told me years ago. But guess what? There’s actually a restaurant that named itself after the sound of fish blowing bubbles—Cafe Blu Blu! 🐟 The name and the logo are both super cute and a little silly. 😄 The restaurant just opened this August, offering coffee and brunch ☕🥐, and started serving dinner in mid-October. The menu isn’t extensive, but the portions are quite generous. We ordered five dishes, and they were all delicious. 😋 Here’s a share for you all: ▫️ Beets: Beetroot + garlic aioli topped with some crispy bacon bits. Delicious—wahoo! 🥓 ▫️ Cod Tongue: Despite the name, it’s not actually cod tongue but a traditional appetizer from Newfoundland. Curious, we asked the server, who explained it’s the flesh from under the cod’s mouth/neck area. It’s full of collagen, giving it a delightfully chewy texture. 🍽️ ▫️ Half Duck: A substantial portion of half a duck—duck breast + duck leg. The taste was spot-on. 🦆👌 ▫️ Red Snapper: Red snapper served with radish and onions. The white butter sauce at the base was a game-changer, and there were lots of fish roe hidden underneath. The combination was very satisfying. 🐟✨ ▫️ Hojicha Creme Brûlée: A Japanese roasted tea-flavored crème brûlée, served hot on top and cold on the bottom. It was so tasty that we devoured it in no time! 🍮🔥 #TorontoEats #Toronto #LifeInCanada #TorontoFoodie #TorontoLiving #TorontoFoodAdventures #TorontoRestaurant #TorontoWeekend #TorontoDateNight #TorontoDateIdeas ### Name: Café Blu Blu Address: 374 Bathurst St, Toronto Type: Restaurant ###
