Toronto|Tried the Lantern❗️ The Value of This Yakitori Place…

Last weekend, we visited this northern yakitori spot. We went for lunch, and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere with lots of families dining together. 🥂👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We ordered the following skewers: ▫️ Sumoki Set: Includes chicken thigh, leek + chicken thigh, beef tenderloin, chicken cartilage, and chicken breast (5 skewers in total). The beef tenderloin was a bit overcooked and tough to chew, and the chicken breast with mustard didn’t quite suit my taste. I recommend ordering items individually rather than the set. 🥩🍗 ▫️ Premium Set: Includes lantern, A5 Wagyu, scallops, beef tongue, and eel (5 skewers in total). This set was delicious, though a bit pricey at $60. Highly recommend trying the Wagyu and beef tongue—very tender and the tongue was super thick and tasty! The lantern was a unique experience; biting into it, the egg yolk burst in your mouth. For the adventurous, the remaining part of the skewer is the ovary, which was quite tasty. 🥂🍖 ▫️ Wing Tebasaki: The chicken wings were flavorful, with crispy skin and tender meat. Worth a try! 🍗👌 ▫️ Heart: Chicken hearts were good too. ❤️ ▫️ Skin - Kawa: Chicken skin was crispy but can get a bit greasy if you eat too much. 🍗😋 ▫️ Gizzard: Chicken gizzards are a favorite of mine. 🐓 ▫️ King Mushroom: This skewer actually had three mushrooms on it. 🍄 ▫️ Kitsune Udon: Udon noodles with a kanto-style radish soup, tofu skin, egg, and fish cake 🍥. Unfortunately, it was quite salty—maybe the chef was a bit heavy-handed with the salt. 🍜😅 ▫️ Grilled Mochi: Hot, soft, chewy mochi drizzled with syrup. Definitely worth a try! 🍡✨ Overall, the value for money was a bit lacking, with some good and some less impressive dishes. The variety of food wasn’t extensive, and the vibe could use a bit more atmosphere. 😕🍴 #TorontoFood #Toronto #CanadaLife #TorontoEats #TorontoDining #TorontoExploration #TorontoWeekends #TorontoDateSpots #TorontoWeekendActivities ### Name: Sumoki Yakitori Bar Address: 18 Fred Varley Dr Unit 9, Markham, ON Type: Restaurant ###
