Toronto Vintage Tavern|Friends Eating & Taking Notes⁉️🦉
Recently, my friend and I visited a cozy, vintage-style family restaurant in downtown Toronto. It's actually the sister restaurant of The Wren! The staff there were super friendly and welcoming. Recommended Dishes: 【Fried Polenta, Romesco & Boquerones】: The base feels like a corn cake! It’s dense and smooth, though a bit greasy. The anchovies and sauce on top add a nice touch. · 【Smoked Trout Dip】: Smoked trout dip served with chips on the side—quite an appetizing dish! · 【Steak Tartare & Beef Tallow Toast】: Steak tartare is always a must-order for me at any restaurant! The toast on the side is fried in beef tallow, adding a nice, savory flavor. Plus, it’s beautifully presented! · 【Digby Scallop Crudo & Cara Cara Orange】: This was the lightest and most refreshing dish we ordered. Scallops, avocado, and orange segments make for a low-fat, guilt-free option, though it was a bit salty. · 【Mexican Adobo Roasted Carrots】: These seemingly plain roasted carrots were surprisingly tasty with a strong BBQ flavor. However, they were a bit too plain overall. · 【Sunflower Seed Hummus & Grilled Asparagus】: A very Mediterranean dish, with sunflower seed hummus and grilled asparagus. Like the carrots, it was a bit on the plain side. My friend and I found the food here to be fairly average—not particularly amazing, but the restaurant's atmosphere is fantastic! It’s a great spot for catching up with friends over drinks. #TorontoLiving #TorontoEats #TorontoFoodies #TorontoLife #WeekendVibes #HiddenGemRestaurants #AtmosphericDining #TorontoDT #TorontoTaverns #CheersToTheWeekend #WeekendDrinks #TorontoBars #DailyDrink ### Name: The Wood Owl Address: 1380 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4J 1M9 Type: Restaurant ###
