Trip to southeastern Czechia
🏃♂️ Venturing to southeastern Czechia 🇨🇿, I captured a set of autumn versions of the classic Windows XP wallpaper! You might recognize the iconic Windows XP default wallpaper—named “Bliss”—which was photographed by Charles O’Rear in 1996 in Sonoma County, California, USA. But this series was taken in the Rolling Hills of South Moravia, a hidden gem in the southeastern part of Czechia. It’s a super low-key destination, barely touched by tourists. 🍃 📍 Rolling Hills isn’t just one viewpoint—it’s a vast area of soft, wave-like hills. The main recommended photo zone is marked in red in Figure 8. The ideal way to explore is by car, looping through the region. Plan around 2 hours if you want to take it slow, stop for photos, and soak in the serene vibes. 📸✨ 🌍 Location context: ✅ Closest major city: Brno ✅ Nearest train-accessible town: Kyjov ✅ Well-known city nearby: Vienna (about 140 km away, roughly a 1h 45m drive) 🚗 🧭 How to get there: If driving 🚙, search Google Maps for: “Rolling Hills Viewpoint (Unnamed Road, Svatobořice-Mistřín, Czechia)” If using public transport 🚆, take train R56 from Brno to Kyjov station Highly recommend stopping by the Tourist Information Center in Kyjov first. Grab a detailed map 🗺️ with suggested routes. If you’re without a car, you can also arrange a local taxi 🚗 or rent a bike 🚲 there! 📸 Shot on Sony A6000 📍 Rolling Hills, Czech Republic #Czechia #Prague
