Trying Tauranga's Famous Fish & Chips - Bobby's Fresh Market Fish šŸŸšŸŸ

We visited around 2pm and the place was packed - including groups of Chinese travelers making special trips just to try it! The Verdict? Honestly... it was just okay. Not the mind-blowing experience some reviews made it out to be. The Positives: āž• The owner was super friendly and welcoming (big plus!) āž• Prices are reasonable - $38 for 2 adults + 1 kid (including their $5 "gourmet" tomato sauce and juices) āž• Portions are decent - we left full The Meh: āž– Their $5 house-made tomato sauce wasn't anything special (regular ketchup might be better) āž– The fish was fresh but not exceptionally flavorful āž– Chips were standard kiwi-style (could be crispier) Final Thoughts: It's worth trying once if you're in the area, but maybe don't go out of your way for it. The warm service makes up for the food being just "good" rather than "great". Pro Tip: If you do go, ask for extra lemon wedges - they really brighten up the fish! #TaurangaEats #NZFoodie #FishAndChips #TravelFood #HonestReviews #KiwiCuisine #NotWhatIExpected
