Tsukiji Hachiman Shrine: A Refined Shrine with a Maritime Flair 🏯

While strolling through Tsukiji Market, I stumbled upon Tsukiji Hachiman Shrine standing proudly nearby and decided to take a look inside. 🍣 🌺🌿 🌊 This area is actually a land reclamation site. As early as the time of Tokugawa Ieyasu, in 1658, land reclamation began from Tsukiji Honganji, 🌺🌿 but the project was repeatedly hindered by large waves. It is said that after the enshrinement of the (God of Five Grains) found in the sea, 🌺🌿 the waves calmed, and the project was successfully completed. This is the origin of "Hachiman" (Wave-Subduing). 🌺🌿 Here, you can find small statues dedicated to seafood and food, such as the "Ebizo (Prawn Grave)," "Sushi-zuka (Sushi Grave)," and "Tamago-zuka (Egg Grave)." 🦐🍣πŸ₯š 🌺🌿 A very delicate and maritime-themed shrine. 🌊 #Japan πŸ—Ύ#Tokyo πŸ™οΈ#TsukijiMarket 🦞#HachimanShrine 🏰
