Twist by Pierre Gagnaire & Vegas Restaurant Recommendations
🍽️ For New Year’s Eve, we chose Twist by Pierre Gagnaire — a $900 dinner and the most memorable meal I’ve ever had. On NYE, by the Strip window, Pierre Gagnaire himself flew in from France for three days just to oversee this dinner. Think about it — you didn’t fly to Paris, he flew here. The saved airfare alone is worth more than $900, right? For this special night, Twist closed two days early to fully prepare. Every ingredient had such layered flavors — I could almost picture the kitchen simmering broths on the 30th. Even the mashed potatoes , which looked simple, were infused with truffle. And the apple tart — I almost stood up and applauded! When served, I was a bit disappointed — just apple tart, right? But one bite… perfection. The crust was flaky, caramelization just right — not too sweet, not soggy. I never knew apple tart could reach this level. 🍜 Zen Kitchen — Really delicious. Dinner is pricier — go for lunch! 🥢 Wing Lei at Wynn — Their buffet is only available during holiday weeks, $70 per person. East-meets-West spread — lobster, dim sum, desserts all excellent. Honestly, the only buffet worth waiting for. 🍽️ The Buffet at Aria — Back in school, I loved buffets for a treat… not as much now. I chose it mainly because it was nearby with no wait. Holiday price: $60/person. Honestly, buffets here are pretty similar — usually $40 for dinner with lobster and crab legs. Not worth a 2-hour wait — spend that time on something else! 🥩 Gangnam Korean BBQ — 4,000+ Yelp reviews, 4.5 stars… I even took an Uber there. Disappointing — taste was just average. Menu similar to Gyu-Kaku, but flavor doesn’t compare. Not recommended. 🦞 Hot N Juicy Crawfish — Nowhere near as good as the DC location — honestly, kinda bad. Skip it. 🍪 Momofuku Milk Bar — Same taste as DC and NYC. If you’re into cereal milk flavor, give it a try. 🌸 Due to the well-known situation, Vegas is now practically a ghost town. Many restaurants have shifted to takeout. I truly hope they pull through. No other city brings together so many top-tier restaurants like Vegas does — I’ll definitely be back. 🌸 #LasVegasFood #FineDining #VegasEats #RestaurantRecommends #PierreGagnaire #NYEInVegas
