Two Hidden Gem Museums at Waseda University
🌟International Literature Museum: Also known as the Haruki Murakami Library. Mr. Murakami likens learning to breathing, feeling the discipline that reading brings. Designed by Kengo Kuma, the library features a tunnel element made of a mix of wood and metal, symbolizing the passage through time and space. Before you leave, grab a cup of coffee at Orange Cat Café, located in the basement of the library. Mr. Murakami loves cats, and that's where the name Orange Cat comes from. 🐱☕️ 🌟 History Museum: As soon as you enter, you'll see the huge Waseda University mascot, inspired by the prototype of the university's founder, Okuma Shigenobu. At the age of 50, Okuma Shigenobu was attacked by members of the right-wing group Genyosha and lost a leg. 🌟 Hence, the mascot also carries a cane. The museum documents Japanese history from the Meiji Restoration onwards. #Tokyo 🌇🌟
