Matsutake Steamed Egg with Seasonal Vegetables: Very salty, almost unbearably so. The waiter explained that daikon soup was used, and high salt was needed to bring out the umami of the seafood. However, I felt it should have been a light, palate-cleansing dish. Instead, the saltiness created a lingering discomfort in the mouth, not resetting the palate but adding more burden. 🥧 🌊 Norwegian Langoustine with Chicken of the Woods and White Asparagus: The langoustine was sweet, and the asparagus was tender after removing the surface fibers. Salty. 🦞 Quail with Orange Sauce: The quail was tender. The waiter mentioned that the sauce contained apple juice, but the menu said orange reduction. I didn’t really taste the fruity flavor; it was salty. 🍖 🌸Coconut Sorbet: Refreshing but not very effective in cutting through the richness. 🍧 Vanilla Soufflé: It melted in the mouth, but personally, I didn’t like it. 🥧 🍃 Mini Desserts: These were as good as what you can find at a French pastry shop. 🍪 The lady next to us was the owner’s wife. When her main course arrived, the chef personally grated black truffle for her. 🍄 We ordered a nice bottle of champagne. 🥂 🎢 Overall impression: There’s no real need to go out of your way for this place. #Michelin #TwoMichelinStars #NewYork 🌆
