Downton Abbey is a must-visit place when you're in Leeds! It's the filming location for the TV series "Downton Abbey" ๐ฌ and is perfect for sightseeing and taking photos ๐ท. Operating Hours โ๏ธ & Tickets ๐ซ โ๏ธ 11AM-4PM (all year round), last entry at 3 PM During Christmas period (around November when the estate is decorated, you can't enter the main estate but can visit the backyard) ๐ซ Tickets can be purchased on-site Adult tickets are ยฃ18, student tickets are ยฃ9 (bring your student card), and children's tickets are ยฃ10. Transportation ๐ From the city center of Leeds, take bus number 36 from Victoria K station. It takes about half an hour to get there. Check the timetable on Google maps in advance to avoid waiting for a long time. You can choose to buy a round-trip bus ticket ๐ return for ยฃ2. Keep the receipt ๐งพ to show the driver on the way back, and with this voucher, you can get a half-price ticket. Get off at Harewood Arms, walk for about seven or eight minutes, and you'll see the main gate of the estate. Entering the Estate It's about a twenty-minute walk from the main gate to the estate. You can also call the number on the sign at the gate ๐ and an old gentleman will come to pick you up with a shuttle bus ๐. After the call, wait about five minutes to get on the bus. The same applies for the return trip, but be mindful of the time, as there might be no one to pick you up if it's too late. Upon Arrival at the Estate You can first visit the indoor areas of the estate, then head to the backyard for photos ๐ท. The estate is quite large with a vast lawn and small animals at the back, as well as children's entertainment facilities. If you have enough time, you can follow the route to explore. We arrived in the afternoon and spent about three hours there, then we got to see the sunset ๐.
