Ultra-Detailed Travel Guide to Luxor, Egypt!

🚌🚌🚌 Arrival: After getting off the Go Bus, you’ll be in the city center. We walked for about half an hour to reach our accommodation. 🚗🚕🚙 Transportation: Chartering a car is highly recommended for sightseeing in Luxor! (Ask at hostels or negotiate with ride-hailing drivers.) (💰600 EGP / 87 RMB per car for a full day.) Public transport to places like the Valley of the Kings and Medinat Habu is virtually nonexistent. Horse carriages 🐎🐎🐎: You’ll see many in the city—they’re cheap! A driver quoted us 💰1 USD per person for a 20–30 minute ride. Prices can vary, so negotiate. 🎡❗️❗️❗️ Hot Air Balloon (Book at least one day in advance!): August first flight: 💰1000 EGP (146 RMB) We booked through our hostel owner. The service was decent—pickup included, and we returned for breakfast after the ride. 🏠🏠🏠 Accommodation: 📍 Happy Land Hostel (250 EGP / 36 RMB) Great location: Right near the city center, perfect for exploring the night market. Friendly owner: Very hospitable and helpful. Includes breakfast: Unbelievable for the price (though the food might not suit everyone’s taste). Activities: Offers hot air balloon rides, car charters, etc., at fair prices. Amenities: Excellent value—common areas on the rooftop are great for socializing. West Bank Attractions: 1⃣ Valley of the Kings (📍The Valley of the Kings) (Suggested time: 3h) Tickets: No e-ISIC cards accepted (bribes may be required 💦). Physical cards get 50% off. A shuttle bus (20 EGP / 3 RMB) takes you 2 km to the site (optional). Basic ticket covers 3 tombs; extra fees apply for more. 2⃣ Valley of the Queens (📍Valley of the Queens) (1.5h) A 10-minute drive from the Valley of the Kings. 🚩 QV66 is a must-see—many say it’s more exquisite than the Valley of the Kings. 3⃣ Medinat Habu Temple (📍Temple of Medinat Habu) (1.5h) Note: The ticket office is separate from the site—ask your driver to stop there first. East Bank Attractions: 4⃣ Karnak Temple (📍Karnak Temple) (2h) Ticket office: Karnak Temple Ticket Office. 5⃣ Luxor Temple (📍Temple of Luxor) (1.5h) Located next to McDonald’s—easy to visit during an evening stroll. 6⃣ Luxor Museum (📍Luxor's Museums) 7⃣ Mummification Museum (📍Mummification Museum) A detailed exhibit on the mummification process. 8⃣ Nile River Sunset Location: 📍 Public Ferry Ask boat owners about private felucca rides. Price: Around 300 EGP (negotiable). #TravelGuide #Egypt #BudgetTravel #WorldTravel #TheBraveEnjoyTheWorldFirst
