Unlocking a new map on Long Island
This place calms the soul like no other. This park is incredibly serene, and once you step into the forest, you have multiple hiking trails to choose from—around the lake, through the woods, or you can mix and match. Deep in the trails, there's even a fly fishing stream where you can catch rainbow trout. I've spotted wild ducks, geese, swans, white-tailed deer, and of course, rainbow trout. 🌲🚶♂️🎣 Today, I was incredibly lucky to witness an osprey catching fish mid-air. It was a breathtaking moment! Additionally, the park office offers kayak rentals for $50, which gets you 2.5 hours on the water. Imagine paddling on the mirror-like lake, birdwatching, and fishing—it's the ultimate way to find peace and tranquility. 🦅🚣♂️ The park is called Connetquot River State Park Preserve. It's located at 4090 Sunrise Hwy, Oakdale, NY 11769. One important note: be sure to protect yourself from ticks by wearing long pants and socks, no matter the season. 🦟 #LongIslandParks #NYCGetaways #FamilyFriendlyNYC #NYCParks #LongIslandFishing
