Vegas | Japanese Dining at Wakuda – A Mixed Experience 🍣

πŸ“ Address: 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 Located on the first floor of The Palazzo – right by the lobby entrance. The decor is very cyberpunk – super stylish! Heard the chef used to hold a Michelin star in Japan. We tried the $300 / 9-course tasting menu per person. Overall, the value felt just okay – the dishes leaned quite Western, so as Japanese cuisine it fell short, but as a fine dining experience with great service and vibe, it worked for Vegas. 🍽️ Tasting Menu Highlights: Oysters – served with chili oil (not spicy) and minced onion. Huge and satisfying! Santa Barbara Uni & Caviar with Otoro – Uni was sweet but overshadowed by the other ingredients. Tofu Skin & Santa Barbara Uni & Caviar with Shiso Flower – Tofu skin + uni was a nice combo.😊 Salmon & Caviar & Truffle – One-bite flavor bomb – delicious! Prawn Tempura – Large tempura shrimp with sweet & sour sauce – tasty. Grilled Sea Bass – Japanese nanban style, tangy and unique.πŸ˜˜πŸ’• 3-piece Nigiri (A5 Wagyu + Fluke + Otoro) – Wagyu was overly rich. A5 Wagyu – So fatty we couldn’t finish it. 24k Gold Leaf Miso Ice Cream – Coconut ice cream with miso – salty-sweet, strange at first but grew on me, like salted caramel.😁😁 βž• We also added 4 extra pieces of Santa Barbara Uni ($27 each) – sadly, they were fishy and heavy, poor quality, not worth it. Final thoughts: More about ambiance and service than authentic Japanese flavors. Good for a Vegas splurge, but temper expectations if you’re a traditionalist. #FoodReview #VegasEats #JapaneseCuisine #FineDining #MichelinVibes #LasVegasFood 🎌
