Vegas Cycling Adventure|Red Rock Canyon Experience 🚴♀️🌵
I often find myself in Vegas for concerts, but outside of showtime, I’m always looking for ways to fill the day. Last time I tried bringing my dog—but let’s be real, Vegas hotels aren’t exactly pet-friendly. This time, I brought my bike! 🚲💨 In the morning, I headed to Red Rock Canyon. The landscape isn’t as dramatic as Valley of Fire, but it’s much closer to the city! If you’re good with directions, you can even ride straight from your hotel. I started from a nearby plaza (address at the end)—it’s big, has plenty of shops, and seemed like a safe spot to park. 🛍️✅ The ride to the park entrance was about 6 miles, with a dedicated bike lane most of the way—smooth, wide, and felt very safe. 🛣️👌 Even in the desert, spring can be surprisingly pleasant! Though the sun was strong, the air was cool and comfortable. The crosswinds were pretty intense though—at times, I couldn’t even take a sip of water without struggling! 💨😅 But surprisingly, the wind was dry and carried no sand—almost gentle, in a desert kind of way. Inside the park, I rode along the 13-mile scenic loop. It looks flat at first glance, but there’s actually a subtle incline—my legs were burning and my bike felt heavy before I checked my bike computer and realized I was climbing a 7% grade! 🚵♀️📈 Lots of cyclists were on the route! At the entrance, bikes enter the same line as cars to pay—they accept cash, card, or tap. And don’t forget your ID—they actually check it! 🆔✨ (Lucky I had a sudden brainwave and brought mine!) You can also drive into the park and start cycling from there—just remember it’s a one-way loop, and the exit is different from the entrance. Keep your receipt to re-enter if needed! 💰 Fee: 20 by car | Only 8 by bike! 🎉 Hope you have an awesome ride! Have you cycled Red Rock Canyon before?
