Vegas Food Diary • Authentic Mexican Feast at Javier's! 🌮🎉

Our first meal in Vegas was at Javier's—a highly-rated Mexican restaurant inside ARIA Hotel! The vibe was totally Halloween-esque: dim lighting, dried vines, old trees, and walls covered in skeletons! 🎃💀 We started with a complimentary plate of classic Mexican chips—the tangy, spicy dip was super appetizing! Here’s what we ordered: 🦐 Camarones – $50 each Two plates of jumbo shrimp (about 4 per plate)—plump, fresh, and full of flavor! 🌊🍤 🐚 Callitos Mazatlan – $50 Wild scallops served with creamy mashed potatoes and bamboo shoots. The scallops were tender and juicy, the potatoes smooth and rich, and the bamboo shoots added a nice crunch—a perfect combo! 💫🥔 🥟 Empanadas Camaron – $38 Shrimp-filled turnovers! If you come here, go for the shrimp dishes—they definitely know how to do shrimp right! Plus, I learned a new Spanish word: camarón/camarones means shrimp! 🦐📚 🥩 Costilla De Res – $52 Beef ribs! Honestly, without Google Translate, I wouldn’t have known what half the dishes were 😂. The beef was fall-apart tender but held its shape, served with three baby potatoes and a spicy sauce that made your mouth water—so aromatic! 🌶️🔥 🍖 La Tablita – $125 A giant mixed grill platter with steak, pork chops, and chicken breast, plus assorted sauces and sides. Served on a huge wooden board—so satisfying! 👏 Must praise their grilling skills: the meat was moist, tender, and never dry or tough—just perfect! 🥩🍗 Final thoughts: The flavors were amazing—way better than any other Mexican spot I’ve tried! 👌 Downsides: It’s pretty pricey. Most people expect Mexican food to be affordable, but here, although delicious, the presentation isn’t the prettiest, and the service was slow—slow to bring water, slow with the food, slow with the bill. Doesn’t quite match the high-end vibe they’re going for! ⏳😅 🚩 Javier's ARIA Resort & Casino 3730 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 Have you been to Javier’s?
