On Thanksgiving at 5:30 PM, two starving young adults tried to eat at Samurai but were told to come back at 10:30 PM 😩. We switched to 888 Korean BBQ, but the estimated wait was over 4 hours—crazy, right? Plus, 888’s online waitlist closed right after opening, so you had to line up in person. Finding a meal on Thanksgiving was no joke! Finally, we walked 4 minutes from 888 to Hwaro (Hwaro 1). During the holiday, they were only offering the premium (premium set) for $33.95. Not bad at all! The selection was solid: lots of Japanese-style appetizers, a variety of meats (including my favorites—pork intestine and pork neck 🐷), plus sushi and sashimi starters. Solid value for the price! The restaurant itself is clean and modern, with comfy seating for 2–4 people. Best part? No wait at all! Service was friendly too—they changed the grill plates regularly and were quick with refills and orders. We walked in around 6 PM on Thanksgiving and got seated right away. No crazy waits like at 888! Definitely a reliable backup option when other BBQ spots are packed. Recommended picks 🥕: 🌟 Dessert (limited to one per person) – Try the Affogato! The yuzu sorbet was a bit sour and slightly bitter—good if you like tart flavors, but I preferred the affogato. 🌟 Appetizers – Go for the Mushroom Fries (with honey cheese powder + mayo) – so tasty!
