Virginia Beach 3-Day Trip|Day 1 Itinerary 🗺️
Memorial Day weekend we drove from Raleigh to Virginia Beach for a 3-day getaway! Here’s Day 1’s detailed plan: 👭 We split into two groups—one headed straight to Water Country USA water park (check it out if you’re interested!) 🚗 10:00 AM Depart from Raleigh → Arrive in Norfolk after ~3 hours 🅿️ Parking: MacArthur South Garage First 3 hours: $1 | Hours 4-6: $2 🏛️ Stop 1: MacArthur Memorial (Free Entry) Exhibits detail General MacArthur’s life and military campaigns—he’s the only five-star general in U.S. history! Most impactful: Original documents of Japan’s WWII surrender with signatures from China and other Allied nations. 📜 ⚓️ Stop 2: Nauticus Maritime Museum + USS Wisconsin Battleship Ticket: $19.75/person (tax included) – includes museum and battleship access Explore the massive USS Wisconsin—a mini floating base with bridges, living quarters, kitchens, and command centers! felt like a maze inside… easy to get lost! ⚠️ Heads-up: The ship’s interior is enclosed + slightly humid with a distinct smell. Last boarding: 4:45 PM | Museum closes: 5:00 PM 🍽️ Dinner: Saltine Restaurant (Walk 2 mins from Nauticus!) 💡 Happy Hour: Mon–Fri 3–5 PM → Oysters just $0.50 each! Must-Order Dishes: Chilled Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail 🍤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So fresh and huge—forgot to take pics because we devoured them! She Crab Soup 🦀⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rich, creamy, packed with crab—I finished the whole bowl myself! P.E.I Mussels 🐚⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huge portion—juicy and flavorful, more like a main dish! Truffle Fries 🍟⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truffle aroma was great—a bit soft but still delicious! #VirginiaBeach #Norfolk #USTravel #HistoricSites #SeafoodLover #WaterfrontDining #FamilyTrip
