Virginia Beach Dolphin Kayaking Tour 🌊
🐬 After seeing a fellow sister recommend this activity, I immediately booked it! I never thought my first kayaking experience would be on the ocean 😱. I was a bit nervous on the drive there, but once I got into the kayak, I was nothing but excited 😆. The departure point is at First Landing State Park. Park your car in the ground camp parking lot, then walk to the seaside via the wooden boardwalk on the right-hand side, where you’ll find the guys from Chesapean Outdoors 👦🏽. The entire trip was thrilling—there were some slightly bigger waves, but nothing too scary . We spotted four or five groups of small dolphins 🐬 (apparently, the farther out you go, the bigger the dolphins are!). 🚣🏻♀️ The kayaking company is called Chesapean Outdoors. It seems to be a small business run by four or five young guys. They’re really young, really cute 😍, very patient, and full of positive energy 💪. Update: It’s not just a business run by a few guys. ⌚️ Time slots available: 9:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 5:30 pm ⏰. The entire tour lasts two hours. You can see dolphins 🐬 and large birds (like herons or something similar) that try to steal fish 🐟🦢. 📝 Notes: 1⃣️ Arrive 15 minutes early ⏳. The guides will thoroughly explain how to paddle. They’ll assist with launching and landing the kayaks 🛶. The pace during kayaking is relaxed, making it beginner-friendly 👍. 2⃣️ Sun protection is essential—wear long sleeves and a hat . Two hours of direct exposure to the sun is no joke 😅. 3⃣️ If you choose the morning session, make sure to eat a good breakfast 🍳. 4⃣️ Wear gloves to avoid blisters on your palms (though this might also be due to improper paddling technique). 5⃣️ Two hours of kayaking is quite physically demanding, so bring a friend with good stamina 💪. #DMVsurroundings #WhatToDoInDMV #DMVWeekendGetaways #VirginiaBeach #Kayak
