Virginia Beach Travel Guide|A Romantic Sunrise on the North Atlantic
Spent the long weekend on a spontaneous trip to Virginia Beach — definitely a place I’d love to revisit! 💙 🏨 Where We Stayed Since it was a last-minute trip during a holiday weekend, almost all oceanfront hotels were fully booked. Luckily, we grabbed one of the last available rooms! 🎉 If you’re visiting, I highly recommend staying at an oceanfront hotel — waking up to sea views right from your window is just unbeatable 🌊😍 🏄 Things to Do Virginia Beach offers tons of activities: fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, sunrise viewing, and more! We only had one full day, so we chose sunrise watching and fishing. 🌅 Sunrise on the Beach Waking up early for the sunrise was totally worth it! The sand had just been smoothed by a big cleaning vehicle — so soft underfoot. Even though it was a bit cloudy, we still captured some stunning photos 📸✨ 🎣 Fishing Trip with Dockside We booked a fishing tour with Dockside — $45 per person online. We chose the 1-4 PM slot. No fishing experience or license needed! The crew helps with everything. After docking, they clean your catch, but be prepared to wait — only one person handles the fish! 🐟⏳ Pro tip: Rush off the boat to queue early, or come back later. You can take your cleaned fish to their restaurant to be fried — super fresh and delicious! 🚴 Evening Fun: Group Biking & Neptune Festival After fishing, we rested and then rented a 4-person bike in the evening — so much fun! We rode along the beach to see the King Neptune statue 🗿🌊 There was a music festival going on — the whole strip was lively! Bike rental: $40/hour (return to the same spot). 🦞 Food & Dining 1️⃣ Orion’s Roof Located on a hotel rooftop — reserve early! We got a 10:30 PM slot, so the ocean was dark, but the moonlight over the water was magical ✨ The fish dishes were fresh but fairly standard. Great for the view! 2️⃣ Dockside Seafood The same spot where we had our fish cooked! Mostly fried seafood — we ordered a feast 🦀 Highlights: soft-shell crab (ask for it — it’s not on the menu!), snow crab legs, and super fresh scallops! 3️⃣ Mahi’s A sushi and seafood spot. We went for a late-night snack and tried their sushi — absolutely mind-blowing! 🍣🔥 Their special rolls are a must-try. 4️⃣ Waterman Surfside Grille Popular brunch place — overall decent, but their cinnamon roll was unforgettable! I don’t even like cinnamon usually, but this one had me craving more 🍯🧁 #VirginiaBeachEats #VirginiaBeach #FoodRecommendations
