Visited the basement of Village Vanguard πΆ
I recently visited the legendary basement of Village Vanguard, a hidden gem in New York's jazz scene. The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra has been performing here every Monday since 1966, and itβs a tradition that jazz lovers cherish. πΆ π Today, I only managed to get tickets for the 10 PM show. I decided to explore the area a bit and took some photos at Summit, a nearby spot with a great view. When I rushed back downstairs to the venue, I realized I needed to join the queue. πΈ π’ At 10:10 PM, I sprinted to the red door, heart pounding, thinking I was going to miss the start. But to my relief, the show hadnβt begun yet. I squeezed in and found a spot, probably the last person to arrive. π While settling in, I met a friendly Filipino family of three from Florida at the next table. We struck up a conversation and ended up chatting about jazz, New York, and our shared love for music until the staff started gently ushering people out at the end of the night. π π The tiny basement was packed, but the atmosphere was electric. The live jazz performance was nothing short of magical. The acoustics, the passion of the musicians, and the intimate setting made for an unforgettable experience. πΆπ #NewYork #NewYorkLife #VillageVanguard π
