WA Road Trip|Day 4: Exploring Albany & The Gap 🌊

Day 4 was all about discovering the treasures around Albany! Driving south from Perth, we passed one stunning beach and bay after another 🏖️. The coast in Western Australia never feels repetitive—each spot has its own wild, dramatic beauty. When we reached Albany, the weather turned cloudy with drizzling rain 🌧️. At The Gap, we stood on the cantilevered lookout high above the roaring Southern Ocean—powerful and humbling! We thought the gloomy weather would ruin our beach plans… but then at Little Beach, we spotted a shark cruising near the shore 🦈! Even under grey skies, this beach was absolutely breathtaking. We ended up spending a whole afternoon there, just lying back and soaking it all in 🧜‍♀️. Today’s Stops & Ratings: 🏄‍♀️ The Little Beach: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🌊 The Gap & Natural Bridge: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🐚 Blowholes: ❤️❤️ ⛰️ Albany Wind Farm: 💔 Plan vs. Reality: We’d originally planned to snorkel at Little Beach in the morning, visit The Gap in the afternoon, and finish with sunset at the Albany Wind Farm 🌄… but the weather had other ideas 😢. So we switched themes: from “beach day” to “seafood day” 🐟🍤! We’d heard Albany was great for fishing and clam digging, so we followed an old man with a shovel along Emu Beach… only to end up with a handful of oyster shells 🤣. After lunch, with the rain letting up, we headed to The Gap. And wow—the sea here does not disappoint! My travel buddy was too scared to step onto the platform 😅. We also checked out the Blowholes (a long walk—skip if short on time). The wind farm was shrouded in fog, so no photos there. But the highlight? Little Beach, even under cloudy skies, was pure magic ✨. Calm turquoise water, white sand, and that shark sighting made it unforgettable. Food Highlights: ☕ The Bred: Famous bakery with delicious croissants 🥐 🍛 Chanya Thai: Amazing Thai food that satisfied our Asian cravings for curry and seafood!
